We (Kalep and Ashley) are the parents to 4 wonderful children. As a family, we have served in Romania discipling and evangelizing the Romanian and Roma people through a local church plant in rural Romania from 2013 - 2018. We, also, served one of the most vulnerable populations in rural Romania, the elderly with the Gospel and meet their daily physical needs. 

 

We are graduates from Union University. Our backgrounds are counseling and education. I (Kalep) has recently finished seminary training in Church Planting from Crosslands.

We used to serve in Sintelec, Romania for 6 years and started an after school program for under-educated children back in 2013. In 2017, we gave the leadership of the program over to an amazing staff and took a step back in our roles of the education program during that year.

In 2018, Kalep accepted the position of Lead Pastor in the church plant in that village where he previously served as an elder. God has given us a calling to disciple and evangelize the people of Romania in the unengaged and unreached areas. During  2018, God brought us to a new place of ministry and continued to further guide our steps in fulfilling our calling.

 

We have learned so much through our transition time, and God has continued to be good to us! Through this time of learning and assimilation, God has placed on our hearts and lives a call to church planting and elderly care. This past year God has been showing us more of His plan for our family and ministry. In 2019, we joined a new sending agency and moved to Pitesti, Romania. A city with fewer than 1,000 believers.

 

We believe that God has called my family to pastor and disciple the believers in Romania through a local church plant. Our vision for our ministry and church is that the members would learn to LOVE the Gospel, LIVE the Gospel, and TELL the Gospel!

In 2021, we were given the opportunity to receive a 5 acre campground just outside of our city, in the foothills of the Carpathian mountains. We have since had the opportunity to house refugees from Ukraine for over 6 months, and have now prepared our camp to be used in outreach, for discipleship, and relationship building opportunities.

 

We are excited about the work that God has prepared for us and are humbled by the support from our local church- Northbrook (Threeway,TN) and all our friends and family who pray and give sacrificially so that we can make disciples in Romania!

 

We are thankful for God’s grace to us and what He has done, is doing, and will continue to do through us in our little corner of the world.
